What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? Having been at Corewell Health in West Michigan for the past three years as a fellow, what I really like here is the friendly atmosphere and the attention to detail when it comes to patient care.

What are your clinical interests: I am interested in pediatric pulmonary medicine, and specifically in cystic fibrosis.

Hobbies: Painting and crafting are two of my favorite things to do. I also enjoy traveling, seeing new places and meeting people from different parts of the world.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I am very excited to be involved in pediatric care, the specialty that I was most passionate about in medical school. Also super excited to move to Grand Rapids and be in a new environment!

What are your clinical interests? My clinical interests generally revolve around outpatient general pediatrics, especially preventative medicine, pediatric mental health and development.

Hobbies: I love history (especially podcasts), music, video games, hiking, travelling and watching sports (basketball and soccer).

What are your clinical interests? My clinical interests are pediatric cardiology and hospital medicine

Hobbies: I love playing volleyball, tending to my houseplants, reading and spending time with friends and family.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? Since my interview day, I have been very impressed by the welcoming and supportive environment at Corewell Health in West Michigan. The strong sense of community among the faculty, residents, and overall Corewell Health team is evident. I could feel the sense of inclusivity and collaboration that I was looking for in a residency program. Furthermore, the opportunity to train at a state-of-the-art Children's Hospital with a wide array of sub-specialists seemed like a tremendous opportunity. I am excited about the chance to learn, grow, and face daily challenges in an environment that offers exposure to a wide range of disease pathologies. I look forward to being a part of a program that values diversity and inclusivity, especially when it comes to caring and advocating for patients and their families from all walks of life. Joining the Corewell Health family feels like a perfect fit for me, and I cannot wait to explore all the opportunities that Grand Rapids has to offer.

What are your clinical interests? I am currently drawn to procedure-based sub-specialties, with a particular interest in critical care settings such as PICU and NICU. However, I am also receptive to broadening my knowledge and skills by exploring the wide range of subspecialties provided by Corewell Health in West Michigan.

Hobbies: During my free time, I enjoy singing (karaoke nights are my jam), game nights (Organ Attack is a must!) and reading. I also like going to sporting events, especially baseball and volleyball games. And when it comes to unwinding, there's nothing better than a good sitcom (Friends, How I Met Your Mother, or Schitt's Creek) or medical drama.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I am excited to get to know the amazing people I met on my interview day that made Corewell Health in West Michigan so welcoming. I was also very drawn to Corewell Health because of the emphasis on advocacy and the first year immersion rotation as well as global health opportunities. Additionally, I am excited to be at a program that emphasizes both resident autonomy and well-being.

What are your clinical interests? I've always known Pediatrics was the specialty for me but am very undecided when it comes to subspecialty and am open to many things. I am also very passionate about global health and plan to pursue global opportunities in residency and beyond.

Hobbies: In my free time I love to find new and exciting places or restaurants to explore with friends and family. I also love to cook and meal prep weekly. I'm an avid traveler and am always looking for my next trip/adventure!

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I am excited to continue my training at a stand-alone children's hospital that offers me the opportunity to work closely with a team of pediatric specialists and intensivists. Additionally, I am excited to work at an institution with a high inpatient volume that serves a diverse patient population. The supportive and patient-centered culture at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital stood out to me from the very beginning of the application process, throughout my interview day, and especially during my in-person visit.

What are your clinical interests? I am interested in pursuing a fellowing in either critical care or hospital medicine. I enjoy the inpatient setting and being apart of a multidisciplinary team that works together to care for medically complex patients.

Hobbies: My partner and I enjoy trying new restaurants and ice creams shops to find fun and unique flavors. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, listening to podcasts while on walks, reading mystery and thriller novels, and re-watching my favorite TV shows and movies.

What are your clinical interests? I have an interest in outpatient pediatrics with a focus on food access including but not limited to access to healthy foods and breast feeding education.

Hobbies: My hobbies include baking, reading, taking walks outdoors and hanging out with my pets.

What are your clinical Interests? Right now I'm interested in outpatient pediatrics, but I'm trying to keep an open mind and explore all of my options.

Hobbies: I love running, hiking, and gardening and I'm looking forward to explore everything Grand Rapids has to offer! I also enjoy watching tv shows, I highly recommend the new Fallout series.

During my interview day, everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. I could tell how close-knit the residents were, which is something I really wanted.

What are your clinical interests? I am currently interested in pediatric rheumatology and general pediatrics. I am passionate about advocacy and mentoring.

Hobbies: I enjoy photography, traveling to new places, and spending time with my family and friends.

I've lived in the Midwest before but never in Michigan, so I'm excited to start something that'll be new but not a huge change! Also looking forward to working with the awesome residents and faculty I got to meet on the interview trail!

What are your clinical interests? My clinical interests include heme/onc, hospitalist medicine, and infectious disease, but I haven't completely made up my mind about whether I want to subspecialize after residency or go and practice outpatient in the community

Hobbies: I'm a big trivia guy and am absolutely always down to crush it at bar trivia! I've also gotten into running recently and would love to check out some of the half/full marathons in the area later on. Besides that, I enjoy board games, Boston sports (cue the booing), video games and true crime podcasts.

What are your clinical interests? I am interested in all thing pediatrics! Specifically, I am interested in critical care and adolescent medicine.

Hobbies: I enjoy doing crafting projects with others. Currently, I find crocheting to be a great way to catch up with friends and relieve stress.

Growing up in West Michigan, I was in awe of Helen DeVos Children's Hospital and the child-friendly atmosphere that I felt there. Now as an adult, I am excited to be a part of what was so special to me as a child. Corewell Health in West Michiganhas an excellent pediatrics program and I am looking forward to officially joining the team as a pediatrics resident in Grand Rapids!

What are your clinical interests? I have a special interest in pediatric hematology/oncology, however I am excited to explore the many different pathways pediatrics has to offer.

Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, swimming, aerial silks and sewing.

I am looking forward to being a part of such a supportive environment with other team members who are passionate about pediatric care. Though I am moving from out of state, I can already see how welcoming the people at Corewell Health in West Michigan are with open arms. I am hoping to become an active member of the Grand Rapids community and build a network of like minded colleagues.

What are your clinical interests? I am interested in both general pediatrics and hospitalist medicine. On a broader spectrum, I am passionate about advocacy efforts for the children that I will be working with. I am hoping to work with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Osteopathic Association in advancing important policies for the healthy development of children.

Hobbies: I enjoy trying new restaurants and coffee shops, dancing to a variety of Indian music, watching Bollywood movies and jewelry making! I am looking forward to exploring the city of Grand Rapids and developing some more hobbies!

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I'm excited about taking this career step in a region with such natural beauty and landscapes, with the opportunity to enjoy all four seasons. I love the idea of training within such a vast healthcare network while living in a place with great potential to raise my family in a safe, growing community.

What are your clinical interests? Up until this point in my career, my interests gravitate towards pediatric gastroenterology. Within this field, I find malnutrition and its influence on gut microbiome formation and how this relates to the development of diseases, fascinating and a great research area to explore.

Hobbies: I really enjoy watching sports, especially soccer. I like moving my body, whether that is through a workout or going for a walk or a swim. Cooking healthy recipes alongside my daughter is also something I genuinely look forward to on the weekends.

I am looking forward to beginning a new journey, alongside my fellow pediatric colleagues, in the supportive and collaborative environment fostered by Corewell Health in West Michigan! Also, I cannot wait to explore Grand Rapids and other surrounding areas of Michigan.

What are your clinical interests? I am currently most interested in pediatric emergency medicine, but I am keeping an open mind to all subspecialties! Global health is also an area of medicine I would like to incorporate into my future career.

Hobbies: I find my greatest joy in outdoor activities like backpacking, cycling, visiting National Parks, and road trips, especially when my dog, Dexter, can join in the adventure! I'm not just an outdoor enthusiast and I maintain balance by embracing activities like rejuvenating hot yoga sessions, diving into creative projects and occasional games of cribbage.

I was fortunate to complete my medical school training at Corewell Health in West Michigan and fell in love with the patient-centered approach, family-like atmosphere, and kindness of the Pediatrics Residency Program. I am excited to learn from DeVos's wide variety of clinical specialties and to make a positive difference in West Michigan communities.

What are your clinical interests? I am interested in addressing social determinants of health and adverse childhood experiences in West Michigan communities as a primary care pediatrician or as a specialist in Child Abuse and Neglect.

Hobbies: I like hiking, running, kayaking, and reading fantasy books, but most of all, I love to hang out with my family and our therapy dog, Ollie.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health? What I liked most about Corewell Health in West Michigan is the people. During my interview, the positive vibes and how caring and nice the residents and the faculty were, made me feel in a place like home. I was looking for a supportive program with a family-like working environment that has excellent teaching and healthcare reputation, and I found Corewell Health in West Michigan as a perfect choice that carries all of that. I was impressed by the educational system and how the program provides great opportunities to develop ourselves from both academic and clinical fields. Plus, Grand Rapids is a great place to live in and I'm so excited to start my residency there.

What are your clinical interests? I am interested in all things in pediatrics, but I like the adrenaline rush in the acute settings of NICU, PICU and ED which I may consider one of them as a future carrier. I also like teaching and being involve in the educational system. Still, I don't know how things could change through residency, but I'm looking forward to it.

Hobbies: I enjoy playing soccer and tennis and outdoor activities like camping, hiking and hunting. I also love spending time with my family and friends. In my spare time, I like listening to podcasts, watching movies and play video games.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health? What excites me about the program is how well organized the it is and how much attention they pay to every detail about you. Additionally, the program promotes diversity and inclusivity, as any question or thought you have can be understood or answered. Also, the residents here are very nice and they participate in a variety of activities that I want to be part of. Aside from that, I am very excited to be a part of the educational process, whether as a learner or a teacher, because this is a very unique aspect here. Finally, I can't wait to participate in Michigan's snowy winter activities.

What are your clinical interests? At the moment, I prefer critical care aspects, but I am willing to learn more about everything before making a decision.

Hobbies: I used to play football (soccer) in my home country, and I am a big fan of Manchester City and Barcelona. I also enjoy traveling since it allows me to explore and learn about new cultures—I prefer to be a traveler rather than a tourist. Another thing I like to do is cooking. I used to make 'Mansaf' in Jordan, but I'm currently learning how to cook other types of Arabic food.

I am also excited to explore Michigan and those fantastic fall seasons that I've heard so much about!

What are your clinical interests? I am primarily interested in outpatient care. Global health and QI projects are areas that I would like to incorporate into my future career.

Hobbies: I love spending time outdoors, which includes ultimate frisbee, running, hiking and photography! Other interests include spending time with family and friends, yoga and board games!

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health? I am a Grand Rapids native and I have dreamt of working at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital on Medical Mile since childhood. It is so exciting to see how Grand Rapids, as well as the hospital systems, have grown and evolved in recent years. I am honored to serve the community that helped inspire and raise me!

What are your clinical interests? I love everything in the world of pediatrics. I am still undecided whether I will pursue a specific fellowship or practice general pediatrics.

Hobbies: Outside of medicine, my partner and I enjoy being adventurous outdoors including skiing, hiking with our German Shepherd, surfing on Lake Michigan, playing volleyball and spontaneously traveling.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join this tight-knit residency family, to get to know the community that we serve and to discover all the wonderful things Grand Rapids has to offer. I am also excited about the global health opportunities available to us!

What are your clinical interests? I currently have an interest in primary care pediatrics and global health, but am also open to exploring different sub-specialties.

Hobbies: I like to find good lavender lattes, watch sunsets by the beach and bake Joulutorttu every December. I also enjoy traveling, trying out new cuisines and capturing candid moments of my family and friends.

What are your clinical interests? I'm interested in neonatology and in learning more about how to better recognize and intervene in cases of child abuse.

Hobbies: I love reading, doing puzzles, watching my favorite comfort TV shows over and over again (Schitt's Creek, Friends and Parks & Rec) and jamming out to Broadway musicals.

What are your clinical interests? I am interested in going into pediatric primary care, where I can focus on health promotion and disease prevention.

What are your clinical interests? I love inpatient medicine. I have not yet decided on what I will do after residency, but I'm leaning towards a fellowship to either become a hospitalist or intensivist.

What are your clinical interests? I am interested in outpatient general pediatrics. I find myself most excited by the social aspects surrounding primary care and would love to start a clinic that focuses on developing and providing resources for my patients in respect to the social determinants of health.

What are your clinical interests? I am interested in pursuing fellowship training after residency. I am interested in multiple potential fellowships at this point and am looking forward to further exploration during residency. I am also interested in and passionate about medical education and look forward to opportunities like researching in this area and developing skills to effectively teach medical students as early as my first year.
